Payment Processing Changes to the Vehicle Registration Suite (VRS)
Effective December 15, 2015, all VRS transactions (ACH) will clear through a different financial institution. This change requires that dealerships that have a debit block on their bank account request a change. Failure to make the necessary changes will cause the dealership’s bank to return the payment and the dealer will incur a bank return fee of $35.00 per VRS transaction. Please note that NMI will not waive any bank return fees. To help avoid any bank returns, New Mexico Interactive (NMI) is willing to submit a $0.01 debit to the customer’s account (upon request). This will help the customer confirm that their bank has removed any blocks, and that future debit transactions will not be rejected. Please read the attached letter below from NMI Interactive (NMI) regarding this important change.
